Overview
The iRobot Braava jet m6 is a dedicated robot mop for sealed hard floors. This page interprets “M6” as iRobot’s floor-cleaning model; the same model designation also appears on unrelated products. Unlike a robot vacuum with a small mop attachment, the m6 is designed around wet mopping and dry sweeping. It sprays cleaning liquid ahead of itself and moves a cleaning pad across the floor. It does not vacuum debris or scrub with rotating mop discs, so its role is maintenance rather than complete floor cleaning.
Its main convenience is room-based navigation. After learning a compatible home layout, it can use saved maps to clean selected rooms through the iRobot Home app. It returns to its charging dock automatically, but the dock does not wash pads, refill the tank, or collect dirty water. Review coverage and owner discussions generally frame the m6 as useful for keeping already manageable floors tidy, with more reservations about stubborn grime, awkward transitions, and the manual work left between runs.
Who it's for
The m6 makes the most sense for a home with substantial areas of sealed tile, stone, or hardwood and relatively few raised transitions. It can suit someone who already owns a capable vacuum and wants a separate machine for routine mopping. Owners of compatible Roomba models may also value coordinated vacuum-then-mop cleaning, although compatibility should be checked for the exact vacuum rather than assumed across the entire Roomba range.
It is less suitable if you want one robot to handle both carpet and hard floors, or if you expect a completely hands-off cleaning station. Households dealing with frequent crumbs, pet hair, or tracked-in grit should vacuum first. Buyers with dried spills or heavily soiled kitchens should expect occasional manual cleaning. A combination robot with a pad-washing dock may be more convenient, but usually involves a different purchase price and maintenance setup.
Things to know before buying
Check floor compatibility before ordering, particularly for wood or laminate whose manufacturer restricts wet cleaning. The m6 needs suitable cleaning pads and approved cleaning liquid when solution is used; do not assume ordinary floor detergents are safe for its spray system. Reusable pads need washing, disposable pads create ongoing costs, and the water tank needs manual refilling. Bundles can differ in the number and type of pads supplied.
Layout matters as much as floor area. Raised thresholds, rugs, clutter, and low-clearance furniture can interrupt coverage, while its camera-based navigation benefits from adequate lighting. Compare the delivered price, return window, warranty eligibility, and included accessories rather than the headline discount alone. Confirm that a listing is for a new robot with its charging dock, not a replacement unit, accessory pack, or refurbished machine.
